Abstract

Artificial intelligence is transforming university life and the way educators and students engage with knowledge. Generative assistants, intelligent tutors, and adaptive systems offer opportunities to personalize learning, provide immediate feedback, and address diverse educational needs. However, their use also raises concerns regarding privacy, academic authorship, algorithmic bias, and technological dependency. In light of this reality, this research aimed to analyze educational policies designed to promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. An analysis of 28 scientific articles highlighted the importance of technology governance, academic integrity, data protection, AI literacy, and human oversight. The study concluded that the responsible integration of these technologies entailed far more than simply having access to advanced tools; universities needed to establish clear guidelines, strengthen digital competencies, and safeguard the rights of their community. Thus, artificial intelligence could complement teaching efforts and contribute to an educational experience that is more ethical, inclusive, and human-centered.
